Advanced Driving Test
INTENSIVE DRIVING UK encourage all our new drivers to take an Advanced Driving test after
gaining experience on the roads.
Many of our pupils return to do just that.
What is Advanced Driving?
In 1956 the Institute of Advanced Motorists was founded with the aim of encouraging British motorists to improve their
driving skills and demonstrate them in a new advanced driving test.
The driving method and style adopted was that used by the Police drivers. At its centre is
a system of car control, which is applied, with an element of flexibility to suit all
driving situations.
You can learn more about "The System" in a book called Road craft (published by
The Stationary Office).
There are two principal organisations offering advanced driving tests:
The Institute of Advanced Motorists (IAM)
The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA)
How Well Do You Drive?
The roads in Britain are becoming more and more hazardous, why not let one of our assessors advise you on your driving standard and take the challenge of The Advanced Driving Test. You may not live to regret it.
