Your Driving Ability
Part Two
For this part of the qualifying process we offer a five day training course consisting of 20 hours of one to one tuition. We have trainers in Grimsby, Hull, Scunthorpe, Lincoln, Louth, Mablethorpe and all surrounding areas within Lincolnshire and East Yorkshire. If you live outside these areas, you will need our residential course.
This course will prepare you for your test of Driving Ability. In order to pass this test you must reach an exceptional standard of driving at advanced level. Further details can be found in the brochure ADI 14.
Usually, you will use your own car for the ADI Part 2 Training course and the ADI Part 2 test; providing it is suitable. If your car is not suitable, or you would prefer, we can provide you with the school training vehicle for your Part 2 training course.
ADI Part 2 Training & The Cost
Below is a brief outline of the course content and training areas covered:
- Eyesight check
- Initial assessment of current driving skills
- 20 hours in car tuition using your own vehicle
- One to one training
- MSM PSL ADA routine development
- Advanced observation skills training
- All pre-set manoeuvres
- Motorway and/or dual carriageway driving skills
- Eco driving
- Preparation for the part 2 test
- "Show me - tell me" questions
- Full verbal de-brief between lessons
20 hours instruction using Your Own Car: £595.00*
20 hours instruction using School Car: £650.00*
*Plus accommodation if required.
All additional training will be charged for
at the rate of £30.00 per hour.
The Part 2 test will be conducted by a Driving Standards Agency Supervising Examiner. You will choose the location of your test from a list of Nationwide test centres.
The test is preceded by an eyesight test where you must be able to read a car number plate from a distance of 90 feet.
You will drive for approximately one hour and you will be expected to drive in a business like and disciplined manner along a varied route.
The cost of the Part Two test is currently £82. You are only allowed a maximum of three attempts At this examination.
After passing the part two test, you could start work
as a trainee driving instructor.
